DR. MARIE DONA, MD, PMH-C
Adolescent, Adult and Perinatal Psychiatrist and Obesity Medicine
Hi. I’m Dr. Marie R. Dona, M.D., a triple board-certified physician in Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Perinatal Psychiatry as well as Obesity Medicine. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from many different walks of life, each bringing unique stories, strengths, and challenges. I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, mood disorders, psychosis, addiction, LGBTQ+ concerns, perinatal mood disorders, eating disorders, and more. I also integrate principles of lifestyle medicine to support whole-person wellness. I will frequently encourage holistic practices and behavioral interventions and not just medications. This can include adjusting lifestyle habits, ordering lab work, and encouraging non-medication interventions.

Training matters, and I am first and foremost a medical physician. After completing four years of medical school, I went on to specialize in psychiatry. I trained in general psychiatry at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and completed subspecialty training in Child & Adolescent psychiatry with a fellowship training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where I served as both chief resident and chief fellow. During those years, I worked across many settings from emergency rooms and inpatient hospitals to partial hospital and outpatient programs and gained a wide range of experience with patients in crisis as well as those seeking long-term care.

In my work, I draw from supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy, blending approaches to meet each patient’s needs. Above all, my goal is to provide patient-centered, compassionate, and individualized care for people of all ages, races, genders, and backgrounds.

DR. SCOTT DONA, MD
Pediatrician Specializing in Developmental & Behavioral Health
Dr. Scott Dona is a compassionate and dedicated board certified pediatrician with a special focus on developmental, behavioral, and mental health care for children and adolescents. Currently practicing in an outpatient primary care setting, Dr. Dona has seen firsthand the urgent need for accessible psychiatric and behavioral health care and is committed to providing comprehensive support for his patients and their families.
Dr. Dona earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Towson University before completing his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. He then pursued three years of pediatric residency training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, where he gained extensive experience in general pediatrics, neurodevelopmental disorders, and child mental health care.
Mental health concerns are rising in children and adolescents, yet many do not receive the care they need due to limited resources, long wait times, and gaps in follow-up care. With 1 in 5 youth experiencing a mental health issue every year, Dr. Dona recognizes the importance of early intervention, comprehensive evaluation, and ongoing support.
Some of the most common behavioral and mental health conditions he addresses include:
-
ADHD & Attention Disorders – Assessing and managing symptoms to improve focus and learning.
-
Anxiety & Depression – Providing early intervention, medication management, and referrals for therapy.
-
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – Performing ADOS-2 autism evaluations to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
-
Bullying, Trauma & Behavioral Concerns – Helping families navigate emotional and social challenges.
As a primary care physician, Dr. Dona is comfortable initiating treatment with medications for common behavioral health concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, and depression. However, he understands that many cases require specialized psychiatric care, which has traditionally been difficult to access due to long wait lists and fragmented care models.

Dr. Dona is trained in ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition), the gold standard assessment for autism diagnosis. He provides comprehensive developmental evaluations to help families get accurate diagnoses and early intervention services tailored to their child's needs.
Dr. Dona’s approach goes beyond just treating symptoms—he believes in whole-person care, addressing not just physical health but also emotional, social, and developmental well-being. His goal is to ensure that every child and adolescent has access to the behavioral and mental health support they need to thrive.
